Privacy
Short version: Bail keeps everything on your iPhone. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.
Last updated: [DATE]. Bail is made by [NAME / COMPANY, ADDRESS] ("we").
What stays on your phone
- What you block. Apple's Screen Time gives Bail sealed tokens for the apps, categories and websites you pick. Bail can't see which apps they are, and the tokens never leave your phone.
- Your modes, schedules, sessions, pardons and activity history. Stored on your iPhone only. Deleting Bail deletes them.
- Your recovery ticket, if you use the Screen Time lock. It's stored in your iPhone's Keychain so it survives reinstalling Bail, and may stay on the phone after you delete the app. It's encrypted so that only we can open it, and only if you send it to us.
- Notifications (session ended, pardon ready) are scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent from a server.
The Bail app makes no network requests. We don't receive any information about how you use your phone.
The Screen Time lock page
The page at /lock runs entirely in your browser. It sends nothing anywhere, sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security; we don't use them to identify you.
When you email us
If you email support, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you attach, such as a recovery ticket. We use it only to answer you. If you send a recovery ticket, we decrypt it to tell you your Screen Time passcode. We keep support emails only as long as needed to help you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Your rights
Because we hold almost nothing about you, there's usually nothing to access or delete. If you've emailed us, you can ask for a copy of that correspondence or for it to be deleted. If you're in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Bail isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version here.
